Wabi Hostel - Playa del Carmen

Pros- Very centrally located. Great ceiling terrace. Mattress very wide & comfortable. Argentinian receptionist is very friendly & helpful. Cons- air conditioner at 18° with no top sheet or blanket. Breakfast very bad. Shower room not very clean (the cleaner spent more time talking on her cell phone than cleaning).

I really appreciate the staff at this hostel! They are genuinely AMAZING! I had an issue losing my debit card and they helped me until my new came. It’s a very chill atmosphere and in a good location. The only thing I would say is a slight issue is that they turn the a/c off during the day in the hostel rooms, which sucks when it’s super hot outside! But other than that I can’t complain. They have free breakfast and are very accommodating! I highly recommend this hostel!

Really nice hostel. The beds are comfortable, have a curtain and a really comfortable locker. The showers were quite small but over all not bad. The toilets were a little awkward? Kinda small and right next to the showers. Free breakfast, but it's not that good. The staff was super nice and friendly. When I was there there weren't that many people staying, but I can imagine it to be very vibrant and just super nice to chill and meet people when it's a bit fuller!

Very friendly staff that speaks good English. The place is very inexpensive. It gets lively at night with a DJ. They also have coffee, fruit, and toast in the morning. The showers and bathrooms are outside by the bar. The location is great, close to the beach but just off from the main tourist strip. Easy access to convenience stores and restaurants. I had the best time at Wabi, I might actually return.

Not the fanciest hostel but its poor ratings are a bit surprising because the room is reasonably spacious, the beds comfortable, with individual sockets, lamp, built-in lockers, and curtains for privacy. The shower pressure is good (including hot water) but the drainage system needs improving, the toilets are flooded most of the time. Wifi is good throughout the property. They offer a nice breakfast and there’s a kitchenette for guests. The rooftop terrace is beautiful and, whilst there are no social activities at the hostel, the location could not be better for going out. Extra charges for card payments should be made clear on their online profiles.

Very impressed by the quality of the room and bed, the facilities, and the very hospitable and beyond and above staff that is at the front desk, especially for the price (and free breakfast! and good wifi in common areas). Although the shower/hot water is a bit lacking quality, everything else makes up for it. The private room had AC, a nice big bed, a small kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave, sink, and utensils. It's in a perfect location just 2 blocks from the beach and right in the middle of the nightlife, it's a great place to stay if you want to party because the surrounding clubs, bars and restaurants can get loud!

Very well located. We stayed 2 nights in a private room with shared bathroom. It has everything we need id. Room: Our room was clean and smelled fresh and had the AC included with a little table. Enough space for two people! Commun area: the rooftop was partly covered and partly open wich was great in case of fully sunny days! There's also a small kitchen with a fridge that we cab use. The shared bathroom is a tiny bit small to my taste but it does the job and it's clean! I really appreciated all the help from the staff. They were incredibly kind and helpful all along our stay!

I stayed here for about 10 days. Had a private room with shared bathroom. I wanted a place that would give me my own space, feel secure and not be loud all night. Delivered on this for the most part. Everything is super simple when it comes to the room. Pillows were a little uncomfortable, but it was cheap. They turned my room over everyday, which I didnt expect. The shared showers weren't my friend and saturday night, they bar upstairs was pumping, but those are the only complaints. Would stay there again, but if I could give it 4.5 I would.
